Rubén Bernal, en su libro Conocer la apocalíptica judía para descubrir el Apocalipsis, ha escrito un estudio bíblico bien documentado, serio a nivel académico, accesible y divulgativo sobre los eventos de los últimos tiempos que aparecen en el libro de Apocalipsis.
Es un hecho que en tiempos de crisis lo apocalíptico tienda a ponerse de moda. En este contexto, aumenta el interés por asomarse a comprender ese misterioso libro de la Biblia que llamamos Apocalipsis. Pero también es cierto que existe mucho fraude de pseudoescatólogos o profetas modernos con ideas especulativas, supersticiosas y poco serias. Pocos libros divulgativos dedican la consideración que merece estudiar el género apocalíptico que se cultivó siglos antes de nuestro Apocalipsis y que, desde luego, conocerlo nos ayuda a descubrir mejor nuestro último libro de la Biblia; tema que trata este libro como bien indica su título.
 Por tanto, esta obra es un brevísimo manual que analiza los nexos que tiene el libro bíblico de Apocalipsis con la anterior literatura judía del mismo género y una visión general de la literatura del Segundo Templo. Se analiza cada imagen, símbolo o metáfora del último libro de la Biblia, sin embargo, no lo hace de forma exhaustivo sino general pues pretende ser un manual divulgativo y pedagógico para un primer acercamiento al tema.
Knowing Jewish Apocalyptic to discover the Apocalypse
Rubén Bernal, in his book Conocer la apocalíptica judía para descubrir el Apocalipsis, has written a well-documented, academically serious, accessible and informative biblical study on the end-time events that appear in the book of Revelation.
It is a fact that in times of crisis the apocalyptic tends to become fashionable. In this context, the interest in understanding this mysterious book of the Bible that we call Revelation increases. But it is also true that there is a lot of fraud by pseudo-eschatologists or modern prophets with speculative, superstitious, and not very serious ideas. Few informative books devote the consideration it deserves to study the apocalyptic genre that was cultivated centuries before our Apocalypse and that, of course, knowing it helps us better to discover our last book of the Bible, a subject that this book deals with as its title and subtitle indicate.
 Therefore, this work is a very brief manual that analyzes the links that the biblical book of Revelation has with the previous Jewish literature of the same genre, and a general vision of the literature of the Second Temple. It analyzes each image, symbol, or metaphor of the last book of the Bible; however, it does not do it in an exhaustive way but in a general way because it aims to be an informative and pedagogical manual for a first approach to the subject.
